Invoicing from recorded hours and expenses, with Finvoice files
Invoicing is the point at which unrecorded work turns into lost money. Once hours and expenses have been recorded correctly, the invoice comes out of them without a new work step.
The invoice is assembled from what has been approved
The invoice picks up the hours, expenses and trips from the chosen period that have been approved and marked billable. The lines come from the entries, so the invoice is always backed by real work.
VAT and the breakdown in place
Lines can carry different VAT rates, and the breakdown by rate is calculated automatically. The invoice shows the seller's and buyer's details, the reference number, the payment term and the due date.
Finvoice for e-invoicing
The invoice produces a Finvoice file that can be passed to an e-invoicing operator. The customer's e-invoice address and operator identifier are fetched from the business information system, so they do not have to be looked up by hand.
The statuses say where things stand
An invoice moves through the states draft, sent and paid. The open invoices show what is still awaiting payment.
FAQ
Does Kirjus replace an accounting program?
Kirjus has double-entry bookkeeping, so invoicing and the books are in the same service. An invoice becomes a voucher without a separate transfer. See the bookkeeping page.
Can a line be added to an invoice by hand?
Yes. Besides the entries, free lines can be written on the invoice, for instance for agreed instalments.
